I am happy to say that the children earned their "Mr. Potato Head" party again on Friday and we went sledding to celebrate all the compliments we have gotten as a class. The weather was great and the children had so much fun!
On Thursday, we had nice enough weather to head out into the school field to find the teddy bear that is sleeping in the woods. We have read many books in class that talk about hibernation and animals in the winter. We are learning about which animals hibernate and which animals don't. We are hoping the teddy bear comes to play when he wakes up in the spring.
Congratulations to Logan who was are star of the week. Logan's presence is always felt in the classroom and his friends really miss him when he is away. We have all learned many valuable lessons from him while enjoying his company. Logan has taught us how to be compassionate, patient and kind but most importantly reminds us how important it is to have love for one another. Logan is a true blessing to have in our classroom and we are proud of to say he is our star of the week.
Show and Share We have completed our first go around of show and share and the next one will start in the coming weeks. Your child will bring home a brag bag with a small rhyme on it. I don’t mean to brag, But I’ve got something in my bag, If you listen close to my clue, I’ll bet you can guess too. My item rhymes with _______. This show and share will fit nicely in our unit about rhyming. Show and Share Schedule Jessica – Jan 12 Owen - Jan 13 Mason – Jan 15 Liam – Jan 16 Alabama – Jan 22 Melissa – Jan 26 Gracie – Jan 27 Tyson – Jan 28 Kally – Feb 2 Logan – Feb 3 Ezra – Feb 4 Eylsia – Feb 5 Jayden – Feb 9 Kolbi – Feb 10 I am always looking for new ideas to keep a busy group of 14 kids entertained - who knew it would be as easy as some Styrofoam chunks, golf tees and hammers. While children are hammering away, they are working on hand/eye coordination, fine motor skills and some fine carpentry skills.

Jayden is a great kid and I absolutely love having him in my class. He is always willing to participate and is a good friend to everyone. Jayden's ability to bring a smile to anyone's face is truly amazing. Congratulations Jayden.
