On Friday we had a Pajama Day and Christmas Party to end our very busy Christmas week. We attended the assembly with our buddies and when we returned we noticed the Gingerbread man was missing. After a long hunt through the school, we finally found him hiding in the boot room. We decided we better eat him before he ran away again.
After the hunt we had a Christmas movie and enjoyed all the snacks. Thank you to everyone who sent in healthy snacks, they were very delicious. I am hope everyone got to attend one of the Christmas Concerts last week. The children practiced lots and put on a great show :)
During the last week of school we got to spend the afternoon with our Grade 6 buddies. The kinders got to decorate some cookies and read Christmas books with their favorite friends. We get to see our Grade 6 buddies every Friday during assembly time; They come to pick up the kids and take them to the gym, after student of the week certificates are given out, Mr. Chomlak spends sometime working on character building with the whole school.
Congratulations to Liam who was our student of the week for December 8-12.
Liam has worked so hard to be the best student he can be. He is always willing to participate and his love for life certainly brings joy to everyone around him. He has been an amazing helper to his friend Logan and is always willing to take his toys to him during play time. He really is an amazing kid and a true joy to have in my class. Elysia has worked hard to be a really great friend to everyone in our Kindergarten class. She is always excited to come to school and always participates in our activities. She is a joy to have in my classroom.
The children have worked very hard to get all their "Mr.Potato Head" parts to have another fun activity in the classroom. (Yes we like fun in our class) As a reward this time, we got to make brownies together.
Having the opportunity to bake gives children the opportunity to learn basic life skills like hand washing, safety, confidence etc while also teaching them important math skills such as measurement and sequencing. I am proud to say they made a pretty delicious batch of brownies. |
